About Us
Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Councils are non-profit charities that provide assistance to other non-profit organizations with local or regional projects. The RC&D can offer grant writing or help change an idea into a concrete and viable project plan. The Council also works with local units of government and citizen groups with their projects. The Council can even assist private businesses through its low-interest loan program.
Ohio Valley RC&D Area includes eleven Southern Ohio Counties and is overseen by a volunteer Council made up of a County Commissioner, Soil and Water Conservation District representative and a third citizen-at-large from each County in the Area. Ohio Valley serves Adams, Brown, Fayette, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross, Scioto, and Vinton Counties of Southern Ohio.
Ohio Valley is one of 375 Councils around the Country who help local people accomplish important community projects. The Local Council decides the priorities for its area and approves all projects for assistance.
The RC&D can: assist with writing grants, review grant applications, administer grant projects, provide technical training, develop project plans, facilitate planning meetings, develop strategic plans, and offer low-interest loans for job creation.
Please contact the office if there might be a project that could use assistance; RC&Ds “Make Things Happen”. If the project sponsor succeeds then we are doing our job.
